I am married to Anette and the proud father of five adult children. I was born in California where I grew up and eventually became an Executive Chef making food for lots of famous people. One day, before our youngest daughter was born, God called me to move to Sweden and become a priest, preach the Gospel and start new worshipping communities. That was over 20 years ago. For the past 8 years I’ve been the senior priest/pastor for Cross Culture Christian Fellowship. On any given Sunday Worship Service, you might find me helping out with the Worship Team, preaching the sermon for that day, leading one of our prayers or just enjoying the service. It has been my pleasure to be a part of a multicultural and multigenerational community and I hope that Cross Culture and be a place where you can also grow in faith, service and your understanding of God’s calling in your life. You can always ask questions about the sermon, the Christian faith or anything else that is on your mind. There are not stupid questions here. I am also available for confidential counseling which is protected by the laws of the Kingdom of Sweden. So if you need prayer, someone to talk to or you just want to know more about Cross Culture then feel free to ask. We believe that our distinctive community has a unique role to contribute to the Christian community of Uppsala and we hope that you will help us in this endeavor. May you time here be a blessing to you.
Hi, I’m Petra, the chairman of Cross Culture. I was born and grew up in Zurich in Switzerland. Since 2018, I’m married to Benjamin, and I am currently doing a PhD in infection biology and Uppsala University. Grown up in a christian family, I’m very thankful to my parents for leading me towards a relationship with Jesus ever since I can remember. When getting older, I’ve made my own decision to lay my life in God’s hands and to follow Jesus. It is amazing to look back and see how He’s been watching over me all my life and carrying me through. And it is even more amazing to see how His love has been changing me. I’m longing to see how living with Jesus changes the people surrounding me, and I pray that Cross Culture will be a place where people answer God’s calling and are changed as they follow Jesus with all their heart. In Cross Culture, I’ve felt at home from the very first moment. My brothers and sisters encouraged me to use my gifts to serve God and the community, and so I became part of the worship team and later the board. I’ve never experienced such a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere in any other church. Being a member of the board, I would like to help Cross Culture to welcome and encourage others in a similar way, to lead them to a life with Jesus and to encourage and equip them to mature in faith.
At our Sunday Worship Service you will often see me taking care of the projector. What attracts me to Cross Culture is that I can make a change for God in this world by being a part. The fellowship that we have, is like nothing I’ve stumbled upon in any other congregation. As a treasurer I take care of the finances. If you have questions about the webpage/accounting or the projector, please feel free to ask me.
My name is Linh and I am the secretary in the Cross Culture board. I was born and raised in Germany by Vietnamese parents and live since 2011 in Uppsala, Sweden. I am a pharmacist and did all my studies here. I became a Christian in 2012 and in 2014 I married Jonas who is the treasurer. Together we have a daughter who was born in 2016. I first came to Cross Culture after I got baptised in another church. Here, I found a community of people with different backgrounds both culturally and spiritually. I find it amazing that Christians can worship together in different languages and traditions. The strength of Cross Culture is its firm stand on the bible and a community of people who want to work in the kingdom of God. We welcome people from all walks of life and any religious beliefs. We encourage exploration of the Christan faith and want to journey together through life regardless of ones background because I believe that loving people shows the love of God.
